Thaco will assemble 4 BMW models in Vietnam

BMW AG Group (Germany) has confirmed that its partner Truong Hai (Thaco) assembles series 3, series 5, X3, X5 in Vietnam.

On December 5, BMW AG announced with its partner Thaco to localize many German car models in Vietnam.

"The Vietnamese market has long-term growth potential and we are happy with the decision to join Thaco in assembling series 3, series 5, X3, X5. BMW also wants to bring Vietnamese customers good BMWs. proud to be produced right in Vietnam", the BMW statement reads.

Also in this statement, Mr. Tran Ba Duong, Chairman of Thaco said it is an honor that BMW is the next brand to be assembled at the company's factory in Chu Lai Industrial Park, Quang Nam. This company is assembling and distributing cars of popular brands such as Kia, Mazda, and Peugeot.

Vietnam Vehicle sales up 39% in 7 months: VAMA

The Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA), which does not include VinFast and Hyundai, sold 232,094 vehicles in the first seven months of the year, up 39% year-on-year.
Association members sold 30,254 vehicles in July alone, up 20% over June and 88% year-on-year.
July sales of passenger cars and commercial vehicles increased by 30% and 1.8% over June, respectively, while that of special-purpose vehicles decreased by 57%.

Motorbikes still the vehicle of choice in Vietnam

VnExpress By Dat Nguyen – Sales rose for the fourth straight year as 3.39 million new motorbikes were bought in Vietnam last year.
The number marked an increase of 3.5 percent over the previous year, and a 25 percent increase from 2014, according to the Vietnam Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers (VAMM).
